18 September 2011

I've had a great weekend. As I post this, it's midnight-thirty on Sunday. I have church in the morning and I'm excited to go, but right now I just want to reflect on the past two days.

Friday, as you know, I was a little pissed off, (see "I'm Pissed") but I quickly got over that as I headed to pick up my friends Desarae and Delaney. We were all going to the Hueytown vs. McAdory game together which premiered on ESPN U. Twenty thousand people were at the game, but we all managed to find our friends Lauren, Jane, Jacob, Squishy, and Leigh-Ann (which I always seem to change the way to spell her name), anyways, I also found a new friend, Haleigh. She's another one of 'dem white girls witta black card', or that was my impression. She is Jane's friend so we hung out a lot that night.

We all had  lot of fun at the game (minus the time I spilt Gatorade in my bag and ruined my new copy of Kathryn Stockett's The Help), Hueytown won (GO HYT!), and I took Delaney, Desarae, and Jane back to my house.

We left immediately. We piled into my car, and took Delaney home, we jammed some, took Jane home to get her clothes, jammed some more, dropped Jane off at our friend's house, and instead of jamming the short distance back to my house, Desarae and I tried to get in touch with Caroline and Lauren to make sure A) they weren't waiting on us at my house, and B) they were gonna make it to my house. We found out Lauren was eating at Burger King (ew) and Caroline was at her house, waiting. Desarae and I decided they'd make it some way (okay, that's shrugging off the subject, but its kinda what happened) and we hung out at my house. She learned about my genealogy, I decided I was going to die from heat, and we began cooking chicken fingers.

The chicken fingers were almost done. I was flipping them over and they would need a few more minutes. As I explained this to Desarae, she screamed and ran through the small door into my dining room. I looked up and Lauren and Caroline had arrived. It was very post-scary funny; I was laughing and my heart was racing. "How'd ya'll get in without opening the door?" I joked, because we hadn't heard them come in. I blame the congestion that my ears were not up to par.

They walked in (cause Caroline used to practically live here) and went to put all there stuff on my bed and change clothes. I followed them and we talked a little. Mom came out of her room and was surprised to see that we had multiplied. She went to bed shortly after (she knew we were gonna be super hyper). Dad and my brother, Stephen came home an hour or so later. We had eaten and drank sodas, and we were telling pick up lines. When Stephen walked in I turned to him and asked him some cheesy innuendo, to which he replied with his own, then sat down and joined us.

We got bored with pick up lines and turned toward Netflix via Stephen's PS3. We wanted to watch something funny, but Netflix only has dumb stuff, so we didn't pay much attention to it. We laughed and "fought" (over seats mostly) some more and finally got tired.

"Ssssttteeeppphhhaaaniiiee," Desarae (I believe) whined with a slur, "Didn't you clean up downstairs so we could sleep?"

"Ya," I replied, tired myself.

"Do you have this," the speaker (I have no clue who) asked, indicating toward the television, "down there?"

"I don't know if I do. Maybe," I said. My Wii had been broken for a while, "I'll go see."

"GO SEE!" Caroline yelled. She likes to pretend she's the boss of me.

I went down and fixed everything up. We migrated downstairs and turned on Tangled. Everyone was trying to stay awake, but it was four a.m., and that wasn't happening. Caroline, Desarae, and Lauren spread out on the two twin bed that were next to each other (a day bed and a trundle) and I spread out on the couch we were all previously squished on.

Caroline (the light-weight) went to sleep pretty quickly, but Desarae, Lauren, and I stayed up and talked about boys, life, and other things you see in all those weird movies. We decided to go to sleep and I turned off the lamp. Not a minute later we heard Caroline say (in her sleep) "Out of order!" After a fit of giggles and jokes of what in the world she could be dreaming about, we went to sleep.

My mom came down around 11 a.m. and told us she was leaving with my brother to Hoover. We decided it was time to get up. Actually, they decided it was time to get up. I wanted to sleep forever. I did, however, eventually get up and make my way groggily up the stairs. They discovered the pancake batter and decided they would try their hand at cooking. Caroline did it mostly (after I fixed the hot plate where it would actually cook the pancakes). They weren't amazing, but they weren't horrible. At least they were something.

We spent the next hour and a half trying to decide what to do. When we finally did, I called my mom to tell her. (We were going to get the tickets for the "Who Shot Rock and Roll?" exhibit from Caroline's mom and go there). Drama. My family was going to the Quad for the Alabama game in a few hours, and I wouldn't have time to do both. I tried to tell my friends I wanted to go to the Quad, but they weren't having it. They begged and pleaded and promised to never talk to me again if I didn't do this, so I gave in.

It took us forever to all take showers and get ready, but we were out the door around 2:10 p.m. We almost died on the interstate when Desarae accidently knocked my car in neutral, but we made it to Birmingham in one piece. We had to park about half a mile from the Birmingham Museum of Art, but we stayed together and I tried to be the voice of reason when Caroline and Lauren decided it would be fun to scream back at these people across the street. (they weren't saying words, it was just whoops of some sort). We went to the exhibit and saw really cool, amazing pictures.

We looked at the outside garden, then decided it as time to leave. It was about 4:00- 4:30. We headed back toward the car and this man who was a self described "homeless nigger" came and asked us for money so he could get something from McDonald's. I love to help the homeless, don't get me wrong, but not when I'm the oldest person there, and a part of the only gender. I told him we didn't have any money, and we ran across the street after he had turned to leave us. I thank the people in the car on that street for watching us, along with the two men across the street. Anyways, we got to the car and I locked the doors. Good thing to, because when we got to the light right before the on ramp, the man we had talked to was right next to us, and the light was red. I told them not to look over, but he noticed us. Luckily, the light turned green.

I sped on to the interstate and we all heaved a sigh of relief. I tried explaining that the man was probably harmless, but I was happy with the way we handled the situation. Feeling much older, we headed back toward town.

We went to Little Caesar's and shared a pepperoni pizza and Italian Cheese Bread. We went to McDonald's and bought tea and a chocolate shake for me (I was the only one with enough). We stayed in that parking lot and watched the intersection. It was fun. We talked more about people, and life, and the day we'd had.

We finished our food and got bored sitting there. We, again, couldn't decide where to go, so I simply cranked the car and started driving. Desarae and Caroline decided they wanted to play "Destination Unknown" in which all the passengers in the car closed there eyes and tried to figure out where we we going. (Yes, we did make this at the moment). Lauren joined in and they all started yelling about where we were going. I honestly didn't know where we we going, but it was fun, and funny to listen to them get confused and be so lost. I drove a weird way to the football stadium and they were so lost. I explained how we got there, and we decided to play again. They closed there eyes and started yelling about what we were passing. They got something wrong though, and eventually in their minds we had driven through Food Giant, through Pine building, into Qubec, past Onterio, and ended up in the middle school parking lot. (That's where I had them open their eyes). It was hilarious.

Desarae had to meet "her person" soon so we could only go to a place nearby. We ended up going to Wal-Mart. After a thirty second burst of energy, we all crashed. (Except Lauren who happens to made of highly excited atoms that never stop moving.) We walked around for about ten to fifteen minutes before we walked back out and I took Lauren home.

Desarae's person was at Zaxby's, so we went there, then we decided to wait on her person to get finished eating before we'd leave. We tried to sleep in the car, but it didn't work well. We ran inside when we found out the band kids were there, but shortly came back out because we couldn't stand to stand. We talked about things that didn't make since and acted like we were drunk, and finally Jaylen, (Desarae's person), came out and told her they were leaving.

I took Caroline home (whom was still trying to take a nap in the back seat), and went home myself. It was 7:15 ish. I turned on the Alabama game and, shortly after, fell asleep.

My parents came home, but I slept a little longer, then I decided to change into pj's, and tell you all about the day, but now its 2:00 in the morning and this post is extremely long. Oh well. It was a great weekend. God has blessed me with great friends.

[Note: I haven't had time to edit any of the grammar mistakes or awkward sentences, but I need to go to bed, so I'm going to do all that later. Comment if you see anything.]
